1. What did you last replace batteries for?
Hmm, probably one of my cameras (with rechargeables) or a clock or something.
2. What have you thrown away that you probably could have had repaired?
An office chair or an old PC, both were working - the chair could have been reupholstered and the PC would have been fine running a low memory distribution of Linux.
3. Among items in your line of sight right now, what should probably be put in the trash?
I'm at work, so... The guy next to me's wrappers from lunch which he's crept onto my desk. My desk is actually very tidy - I don't keep surplus stuff around for long.
4. When did you last use disposable cutlery while dining in your house?
Ohh not since Uni like 2 years ago.
5. Whose actions cause you to waste time you otherwise wouldn't waste?
Big companies with inefficient customer service whom I have to chase, clients at work who I have to badger and staff at work who need things explaining to them a dozen times. At least the latter get better with time, experience, beatings.

Sigh, FridayFiver is dead, time to pick up Friday5.org. Yes, I know it's Monday, but work is such a drag, hey?
1. What was the last meal that caused you to be ill?
A sandwich. We have a shop near where I work called the "green shop". So named because of the colour of it's sign. Alas it appears it is also the colour one turns after eating the majority of its produce. I've stopped going there now.
2. Are there any places you never dine any more because of a bad experience hours after the meal?
Not really. I don't eat anything meat-based bought from anywhere near work however to minimise risk. Way too many bad experiences with the dodgy eateries round here.
3. What's your prescription for dealing with a food-caused illness?
Starve for 24 hours, stay warm and rest. Drink plenty of water.
4. When friends tell you about coming down with food-caused illnesses, do you avoid the places they name, or do you figure it's a dice-roll wherever you go?
Depends, if it's a generally good place, it's probably either bad luck or misdiagnosis. If the place is a little bit dubious to begin with then I'll probably take their advice.
5. After numerous citations, a very, very popular restaurant that you're quite fond of is shut down by the health department until it can get everything up to code. When the health department gives the restaurant the o.k. to reopen, do you go?
Maybe give it a little while until they pass their re-inspection.
Hmm, getting a little hungry now... Why can I never find any robust chewable pens that don't vibrate?
Saturday the 21st of June, 2008 at 9:34 pm.
Holy cow, an update? Why sure! Much has been going on and I'm busy as always. In most important, though possibly old news, I should probably officially announce that I have a rather kew girlfriend... Bet ya can't guess who using only my past Friday Five posts ;)
1. Last party you went to?
Kind of a party, Download Festival, before that probably Wolves for Phil's end of uni BBQ :)
2. Do you pee in the shower?
Not always, and not as a first choice - alas we only have a toilet at work.
3. Have you ever fired a gun?
Within the law.
4. Where do you call home?
It switches on context between my own flat and my parents' house. More generally, Essex.
5. What's your favourite board game?
Pictionary (well iSketch really) and Dirty Minds are fun.
Woo, only 6 days until cake, 61 to Reading :)
Friday the 9th of May, 2008 at 11:36 pm.
1. Who do you adore?
No one? At least not for the correct definition of the word. Even if you married or had been with the most amazing person in the world for most of your life, I still don't think you could list them and adhere to the dictionary.
2. Who adores you?
As with [1], it's difficult to imagine someone. However, if someone does indeed 'adore' me then it would serve them well to say so ;)
3. What's in your pockets?
Now as I'm at home, just my mobile phone.
4. Who can you talk with for hours?
A number of people online, a few face to face. Far more after alcohol.
5. What sounds great today?
Bedtime, the start of a weekend and a holiday starting Wednesday :)
Friday the 2nd of May, 2008 at 2:47 pm.
1. Describe where you grew up:
Essex, a short walk to the seaside, a little way from the town, near some fields. It was pretty safe really.
2. Do you wear any jewellery?
A watch, some rings sometimes.
3. What do you have too much of?
Open tasks. I need to cut down, there's so many things going on it's becoming hard to focus.
4. Who is a fool?
fool (f?l) n. - One who is deficient in judgement, sense, or understanding.
We may all be fools at any time, to some and not to others. What is sense to you may not be sense to your neighbour. Worse is the fool who is ignorant of this, who does not at least seek to challenge and to understand.
5. What's your nickname?
Mike, it appears.
